Apparemment, elles font un véritable tabac, au point que monsieur le directeur me presse pour que je lui présente mes prochaines compositions au plus vite... La rançon du succès...
Je suis honoré de toute cette attention nouvelle que l'on me porte, seulement, je ne suis pas sûr de pouvoir satisfaire les attentes du public... Voyez-vous, je suis incapable de travailler sur commande ; jusque-là, j'ai toujours attendu que la muse chatouille de ses doigts fins mon génie créatif...

Quelqu'un qui a vécu de l'intérieur le combat pour la libération d'Ala Mhigo et de Doma a forcément des histoires palpitantes à partager, plus palpitantes encore que celles du commun des aventuriers.
Rien que d'y penser, je sens déjà les mots s'imbriquer dans ma tête ! Je vous en prie, dès que vous aurez du temps libre, passez donc m'offrir la matière qui nourrira mon œuvre, celle-là même qui transportera les spectateurs du Mujikoza !

If I may ask, how are you enjoying the Far East? With its many charms, it is an easy place to like. Indeed, it holds a special place in my heart; you might even say it is a second home to me, often as I find myself here on my endless quest for verse.
And on this particular visit, the proprietor of this theater chanced to hear me perform and took a shine to my work. One thing led to another, and a number of my songs were adapted for the stage!
Such are the crowds they have drawn, I have since been commissioned to write pieces for a new production.

Ich habe Kugane schon früher oft besucht, um die Geschichten, die mir hier zu Ohren kommen, in elegante Verse zu fassen.
Und eines Tages traf es sich, dass der Intendant des örtlichen Theaters Gefallen an meiner Dichtung fand. Er hat mich damit betraut, mehrere Balladen für die Bühne umzuschreiben, und einige Stücke werden auch tatsächlich schon aufgeführt!
Aber wenn man ein großes Publikum vor Augen hat, möchte man es nicht mit aufgewärmten Geschichten abspeisen. Es muss etwas Fantastisches sein, etwas noch nie Dagewesenes! Ein Meisterwerk, von frischen Impulsen inspiriert!
Aber das Bewusstsein, dass ein aufmerksames Publikum schon begierig auf meine Kreationen wartet, lähmt meine schöpferische Kraft. Tausende Topoi, Myriaden von möglichen Themen - wovon soll mein Werk nur handeln?
... Aber natürlich! Du, die du schon Quell so vieler Epen warst, musst mich wieder inspirieren! Sag, was hast du in letzter Zeit erlebt?
Ach, richtig, richtig - Doma und Ala Mhigo! Wie konnte ich nur vergessen! Bist nicht immer du es, deren Stärke den Ausschlag gibt, deren Geschick jeden tollkühnen Streich gelingen lässt? Es würde mich nicht wundern, wenn es auch diesmal so gewesen wäre!
Sprich mit mir, wann immer du einen Augenblick erübrigen kannst, auf dass mich deine Schilderung in Bann nehme und zu einem bestrickenden Drama inspiriere. Die Theatertruppe des Mujikoza wartet darauf!

やあ、僕に声をかけてくれるとは光栄だね……！ ドマとアラミゴ、両国をめぐる数多の動乱に関わってきた冒険者。 君の勇名は、様々な地で耳にしているよ。
僕も時折、こうしてクガネに赴いては、 東方の地で見聞きしたことを、詩にしたためているのさ。
そうしたら、この劇場の支配人が、僕の詩を気に入ってくれてね。 最近では、いくつかの詩を戯曲に仕立て直して、 上演してもらったりもしているんだ！
……ところが、客が入るとわかると、 今度は、新作の発表をせっつかれるようになってね。
創作には、刺激とひらめきが必要不可欠。 僕の詩を待つ人がいてくれるのは、とても嬉しいけれど、 望まれたからって、すぐに生み出せるようなものでは……。
…………そうだ！ 君さえよければ、最近の冒険で体験したことを、 僕に教えてくれないかい？
君は、アラミゴやドマの動乱に身を投じていたんだろう？ 風の便りを信じれば、その活躍は、 一介の冒険者のそれを遥かに凌ぐとか……。
君の冒険譚は、間違いなく僕の創造力を刺激してくれるはずさ！ 新作を待つ「無地鼓座」の皆のため、詩はこの場で紡ごう。 いつでも気軽に、ここクガネで声をかけてくれたまえ！
