Oui, c'est quelque chose que j'ai décidé de faire il y a un moment déjà. Je compte retrouver les autres Viis en dehors de la forêt et leur proposer de venir vivre avec nous afin de protéger ensemble les vestiges de l'empire de Ronka.
Je suis un peu triste de quitter le village et la forêt, mais quand je pense aux nouvelles rencontres qui m'attendent, à la renaissance de la fraternité de Ronka, cela me donne la force de partir. Chaqurl, je compte sur toi pour veiller sur Ciuna, d'accord ?

Les Qitari et nos amis du peuple de la Nuit ont joué un grand rôle dans la protection de Ronka... Je suis heureuse d'avoir trouvé des alliés de confiance aussi proches de nous. L'avenir de cette forêt est entre de bonnes mains.
Phyna est vraiment partie... Je suis triste, c'est vrai, mais je dois moi aussi trouver ma voie et continuer de protéger l'empire de Ronka en restant dans cette forêt.

Première fois que voir Grand Serpent être après retour de Ténèbres dans ciel. Petite créatuuure avec chapeau apparaître devant Chaqurl Qhotl.
Chaqurl Qhotl curieux alors suivre créature... Tout à coup, trouver chemin vers Enchevêtrement des Qitari enfin accessible après de longues années.
Chaqurl Qhotl emmener petite créature à père et raconter trouvaille. Père dire touuut de suite : “Ça être révélation de Serpent marin de Ronka” !
Ooh... Ce brave Qitarl aurait donc ressenti naturellement l'aura du Destructeur... C'est fascinant !
Dans mon cas, cela s'est passé ainsi : depuis très longtemps, mes rêves sont parsemés de visions de l'avenir. Un jour m'est apparu un grand serpent me répétant les mêmes paroles, encore et encore...
J'ai compris que le serpent essayait de me prévenir du danger qui pesait sur la forêt. Mais c'est une fois que je suis tombé nez à nez avec son auguste incarnation charnelle que tout est devenu clair dans ma tête !
Nos aventures le prouvent, le Serpent marin de Ronka est le gardien de cette forêt, et il veille sur nous en permanence !

Indeed. We Qitari must bear the responsibility of having spread the pox to these parts of the forest. Finally, we have brought this painful chapter of our history to a close─and we could not have done so without your invaluable aid.
At first, I feared we might damage our relations with the Night's Blessed and the Viis beyond repair. Instead, we have managed to overcome the plague together, and in doing so, the time-tested bonds between our peoples are stronger than ever before.
I travel to Slitherbough and Fanow all the time to share tidings from the forest with my newfound friends!
And with the guidance of the great serpent, we have reclaimed long-lost knowledge─not just of our own kind, but of great Ronka itself.
In studying the restored stela, I have had occasion to reflect and ruminate on the history of the empire. It truly was a great civilization, controlling and exerting influence over all of ancient Norvrandt.
The Ronkans ruled the land with an iron fist, and thought little of subjugating other peoples through force. And yet, by uniting myriad races under their banner, the empire did much to ensure peace and prosperity for its citizens.
Yet, as Ronka continued to grow, there emerged more and more those who grew dissatisfied with life under the rule of the throne.
No doubt, that was eventually what brought about its downfall. After all, even the greatest power will not last forever─just as even the mightiest tree will one day fall.
It was a civilization of great enlightenment, welcoming myriad peoples and uniting them under a single banner to live in peace and prosperity.
Hume and Viis, Qitari and Ronso─living side by side and working towards a common good, the artistic and academic accomplishments of the empire were many. And yet this─its greatest strength─would also prove its downfall...or so my theory holds.
As the empire expanded and the years went on, once-strong friendships and alliances began to turn sour. Small disagreements flared into all-out conflicts, and Ronka, once akin to a mighty tree that seemed as if it would stand forever, began to splinter from within...
I imagine Ronka in its final years, withered and dying. No doubt the emperor sat on his throne, waiting in vain for the arrival of one who would restore his empire to its former glory. Waiting for the ally of Ronka...
Compared to the long and storied history of Ronka, my own three years seem as in-*fig*-nificant as a drop of water in a great and gushing river.
I understand the sentiment, my boy, but it is not so.
While the lifespan of any one Qitari may be short, we must never underestimate the value of our shared knowledge and wisdom, accumulated through our many experiences and recorded for the sake of posterity.
Just as our forefathers did their part to shape the course of Ronkan history, so, too, will the discoveries you have made serve to forge the future of our people─and the Greatwood itself.
But we must not forget our friends and allies, without whose aid we may not have survived to see this day. Might I trust you to convey our gratitude to them on my behalf, Chaqurl?

Fanow has always been my home, and it will not be easy for me to leave it behind. And yet I will leave with the knowledge that the forest is in good hands. Promise me that you will not let Ciuna get into *too* much trouble, yes?

Speaking of which, Chaqurl...whatever made you think that little fellow was the great serpent in the first place? When Quinfort first started rambling on to that end, I thought he'd finally lost the last of his wits.
An excellent question, Valan─and one I have been giving some thought to myself. Father had always told me tales of how the Ronkans worshipped a great serpent as their guardian and protector, but there were no clear records of its physical appearance.
On the night that darkness returned to the skies, the small creature we now know well arrived before us wearing that curious hat.
Intrigued, I followed after it. It led me through the Ravel, where I saw that the passage to our an-*central* homeland was at long last open once more.
Jumping for joy, I picked the small creature up and ran home to share the news with Father. With a tear in his eye, he gazed at me deeply and spoke these words: “The great serpent itself has arrived to guide us home.” In that moment, I knew it must be so.
A moment of divine inspiration, no doubt, and not altogether unlike my own! Yes, this is most fascinating, indeed.
In my own case, the great serpent has appeared before me in my visions for as long as I can remember. Time and again, it shared with me the words of wisdom that I have so dutifully recorded as the *Gospel of Quinfort*.
One day, it called out to me with a terrifying scree, warning of a great calamity that was to befall the Greatwood if I did not rise to action. It was shortly after that we came upon that tiny creature in the forest, and I recognized it immediately as the incarnation of our divine protector.
It is clear now that all was leading up to this day. Its first appearance in my visions, our meeting─all has been part of the great serpent's grand design to restore peace, harmony, and prosperity to the forest!
Truly, we would never have been able to rediscover our history, nor overcome the spread of the plague were it not for the serpent's guidance and wisdom.
Clearly, your forefathers revered the great serpent, as well. Why else would they have engraved it atop the final stela, buried deepest and furthest from the sin eaters' reach?
Now, this immaculately preserved stela stands before us as incontrovertible proof that this tiny creature is indeed that which we all instinctively perceived it to be─the manifestation of Ronka's divine protector who hath come once more in our time of need to guide our peoples through trying times and into a new generation of peace and prosperity!

Last time, after its work was done, the great serpent left us, going off to some place where only gods dare to tread.

What nonsense is this, Valan? Clearly, the great serpent has been watching over us all this time.
In any event, it is clear that we owe the serpent a debt of gratitude. It would be remiss for us not to make a pilgrimage to a site where we might properly pay obeisance.
I would like nothing more than to pay o-*seib*-ance, Master Quinfort...but there is no telling where the serpent has gone. Where might we go that it might hear our words?
Fear not, my young Qitari friend, for I know just the place. The ancestral slumbering place of the great serpent─the mighty crystal that has appeared before me time and again in my visions.
I speak of none other than Fruit of the Protector, cradled amidst the waters of Lake Tusi Mek'ta. Valan and I make the trek there nigh every day to express our gratitude to the great serpent for deigning to share its divine guidance with us.
Don't look at me like that, Player. I didn't go *every* time, and when I did it was just to keep Quinfort here out of trouble!
And just how should we go about expressing our *glad*-itude to the great serpent?
An astute question, my young friend! If you wish, I would be happy to share with you some choice passages from the *Gospel of Quinfort* that would be most suitable for the occasion. For example, there is chapter fifteen, verse five, which begins as follows: “O, hearken unto the heavenly scree...”

I cannot thank you enough for accompanying my son throughout the forest. To the end, you have gone above and beyond on our behalf. It is a debt of gratitude the Qitari will not soon forget.
In reclaiming our heritage and history, we have also rekindled time-honored bonds of friendship with our fellow residents of Rak'tika.
The Night's Blessed, the Viis, the great serpent...and not the least of all, Player, ally of Ronka─all have played a part in events that will be etched in the annals of history.

Alte Ronka-Zivilisation war reich an Kultur, hat lange über Norvrandt geherrscht.
War starkes Reich mit mächtigen Kriegern, haben Völker, Stämme und Sippen von Wald unterworfen und so Frieden gebracht.
Ronka-Reich hat aber auch von anderen Waldbewohnern gelernt: über Leid, Schwäche und Schmerz.
Hat gelernt, dass niemand auf ewig Stärkster sein kann, dass niemand ewig herrscht. Auch Ronka-Reich ist schwächer geworden und irgendwann untergegangen.
War gutes Reich mit weisem Kaiser. Hat alle Waldbewohner geschätzt, mit allen gesprochen und allen zugehört.
War ein Reich mit vielen verschiedenen Bewohnern, und alle konnten etwas beitragen. Völker von Ronka-Reich haben ihre Unterschiede geachtet und zusammen für Frieden gebetet.
Doch Waldbewohner hatten abweichende Interessen. Haben sich auseinandergelebt und vergessen, wie man füreinander arbeitet.
Kaiser hat auf neue Verbündete gehofft, sie gerufen, gewartet ... Aber Ronka-Reich ist zerfallen und untergegangen.
Ronka-Reich war so alt, viele hundert und hundert Jahre! Aber Chaqurl ist nur drei ... und weiß wenig.
Nein, Chaqurl. Du bist klug, klüger als so mancher erwachsene Qitari.
Grabende Pfoten haben Erdschicht um Erdschicht abgetragen. Aber du hast Geschichte von Ahnen freigelegt, mit Entschlossenheit und Mut.
Geschichte steht jetzt an Oberfläche, damit alle sie sehen und davon lernen können. Für viele folgende Generationen.
Qitari haben neue Freunde gewonnen, alle haben mitgeholfen. Grabende Pfoten sollten Worte von Dankbarkeit an sie richten. Willst du alleine machen, Chaqurl? Bist jetzt groß und Qitarl muss dich nicht mehr begleiten.

Ich kann es kaum erwarten, die Gedenksteine der Qitari zu studieren!

Sag mal ganz ehrlich, Chaqurl. Was hältst du von dieser Schlangengeschichte? Waren die Tiere in eurem Lager wirklich Inkarnationen der Wasserschlange von Ronka?
Vater von Chaqurl hat erzählt, dass Große Schlange im Ronka-Reich verehrt wurde. Aber Chaqurl wusste nicht, wie sie eigentlich aussehen soll. Dann geschah es.
Es war zu Zeit, als Nacht zurückkam. Da sah ich kleine Schlange, hatte Schlapphut auf Köpfchen.
Sie sah so seltsam aus, also folgte Chaqurl ihr. Und fand so Weg durch Irrungen.
Sofort brachte Schlange zu Vater. Er war sich sicher: Wasserschlange von Ronka hat sie geschickt!
Die Qitari haben sie also auch sofort als das erkannt, was sie ist. Wirklich sehr interessant ...
Bei mir war es genauso. In meinen Träumen sah ich eine große, geflügelte Schlange, welche wieder und wieder zu mir sprach.
Eines Tages warnte die Große Schlange mich vor einer drohenden Gefahr. Als ich dann im Wald auf die Wasserschlange traf, war mir sofort klar, wen ich vor mir hatte.
Die Erhabene Schlange wacht über den Wald. Sie ist des Waldes Auge, sie ist des Waldes Beschützerin.
Beschützerin von Wald ... Sie hat 'rl zu Gedenkstein geführt. So konnte Krankheit von Waldbewohnern geheilt werden ...
Die alten Qitari kannten die Bedeutung des Gedenksteins, auf dem sie die Heilung aller Waldbewohner festhielten. Deswegen haben sie ihn tief unten in den Tunneln versteckt - wo er am besten vor den Angriffen der Sündenvertilger geschützt war.
Sie krönten ihn mit einem Abbild dieser - möge die Gefräßige Verschlingerin mir die Indiskretion verzeihen - niedlichen Wasserschlange. Als ein Zeichen, dass sie sie als Inkarnation der Großen Wasserschlange verehren.

Auch damals, nachdem sie uns den richtigen Weg gewiesen hatte, verschwand sie klanglos im Gestrüpp. Sie hatte ihren Dienst getan.

しかし、お主の協力もあり、病は完全に終息……。 結果的には、「夜の民」やヴィースから非難されるどころか、 我らは同じ困難を乗り越え、より絆が深まったほどでござる。
そるかしも、たくさんのトモダチができたでござうよ！
水蛇様のお導きのおかげで、多くの森の民と出会いを重ね申した。 そして、失われた一族の記憶……否、ロンカの歴史も蘇った。 揃いし石碑を見て、今ひとたび、思い馳せるのでござる……。
ロンカ帝国は、 古代ノルヴラントを永く支配した、豊かな文明国でござった。
そして、強権的な国家であったとも言えよう。 しかし皇帝を中心とした強力な武力と、多民族の連帯が維持され、 ロンカが強者である限り、民は平和を享受し申した。

去る日、ボクは大蛇が森の危機を告げる夢を視た。 そして森で幼き御姿の水蛇様に出会った瞬間、 すべてがそれとわかるよう、意識に流入してきたのだッ！！
今回の件を経て、ボクは改めて思うのだ…… やはり水蛇様とは、森を見守り、調和をもたらす存在であると！
森の、調和……。 確かに、水蛇様はキタリを一族の石碑へと導いて、 そして森の流行り病の解決も、与えてくださったでござう。
キタリ族の先祖も、水蛇様の御姿を石碑の最上に据え、 罪喰いの襲撃の際には、洞窟遺跡の最深部に隠し護った。 それは民を繋ぐ特別な記憶に、水蛇様が関わっておられたゆえ。
つまり、あの傷みなき石碑こそ、この小さく幼い御姿が、 古代より水蛇の化身様として、神聖視されていた証なのだッ！
