Tu l'as deviné ! C'est mon paternel, l'aurarque Gulool Ja Ja ! Et les scènes que vous pouvez voir sont les épisodes les plus marquants de son épopée qu'on appelle la geste du Tuliyollal !
On peut y voir qu'il a parcouru le continent pour tisser de solides liens d'amitié avec tous les peuples qui habitent ces terres. Bien sûr, ses nombreux faits d'armes y figurent aussi.

Ah, celle-là montre le chapitre de l'amitié. Gulool Ja Ja a fait la connaissance d'un explorateur venu de l'étranger. Il avait un nom bizarre... “Rames-en-quête”, je crois... En tout cas, ils ont tout de suite sympathisé.
Ne serait-ce pas “Ketenramm”, par hasard ?
Ah, oui ! Ketenramm ! C'est après l'avoir rencontré que Gulool Ja Ja a décidé de parcourir le continent.
Aujourd'hui encore, il le considère comme un ami très cher. Il faut dire que ce visiteur étranger a vraiment marqué le paternel. Par contre, personne ne sait ce qu'il est advenu de lui...
Malheureusement, nous n'en savons pas beaucoup plus. En Éorzéa, on raconte qu'il aurait disparu en mer lors d'un de ses nombreux voyages entre nos deux continents...
Ça, c'est le chapitre du festin. On y voit la rencontre de papa avec mon peuple, les Xbr'aal.
Pendant très longtemps, les Xbr'aal et les Mamool Ja étaient en guerre pour le contrôle des forêts adjacentes à leurs deux territoires.
Gulool Ja Ja a mis fin à cette longue discorde. On dit que c'est à ce moment-là qu'il a décidé d'unifier le continent.
Pour ton information, les Xbr'aal sont appelés les Hrothgars par chez nous. Les Hélions de Bozja ont fondé une société matriarcale. Ils sont divisés en petites colonies, chacune dévouée à une reine.
Sur le continent turalien, je n'ai pas constaté ce genre de disparité... C'est fascinant de voir à quel point l'environnement peut influencer l'organisation d'une communauté.
Passons au chapitre des roseaux. Papa a rencontré les Hanu Hanu dans leur village à Kozama'uka.
Ce peuple ressemble comme deux gouttes d'eau à nos Vanu Vanu. Alphinaud, qui les connaît bien, a tout de suite remarqué les couleurs bigarrées de leur plumage.
Je ne connais pas les coutumes des Vanu Vanu... Mais par chez nous, les Hanu Hanu sont de sacrés boute-en-train. Ils sont réputés pour organiser des fêtes singulières.
Hum... Cette colonne-là, c'est le chapitre du pot. Gulool Ja Ja a rencontré les Mobelins qui cohabitent à Kozama'uka avec les Hanu Hanu.
Ils respirent fort derrière leurs masques et ils ont tendance à appuyer sur certaines consonnes en parlant... Ils sont également réputés pour leur talent en orfèvrerie. Je vous recommande d'avoir recours à leurs services si vous voulez faire plaisir à votre princesse favorite !
Décidément, après les Vanu Vanu, nous trouvons aussi des cousins éloignés de nos Gobelins éorzéens.
On arrive au chapitre de l'or qui s'est déroulé à Urqopacha, le territoire des Pelupelu.
C'est à eux qu'on doit notre monnaie. Les Pelupelu commercent dans tout le Tuliyollal. Si vous voyez un marché quelque part, c'est certainement eux qui le gèrent.
Ils aiment porter des masques un peu comme les Mobelins. Attention, par contre, parce que derrière leurs paroles mielleuses se cachent de redoutables requins de la finance !
C'est le chapitre des tombes, qui relate la rencontre de Gulool Ja Ja avec le peuple le plus imposant du Tuliyollal : les Yok Huy.
Grâce à leur carrure de géants, ils auraient pendant longtemps régné en maîtres incontestés sur le Yok Tural.
Forts de leur dominance sur la partie sud du continent, ils ont naturellement jeté leur dévolu sur le Xak Tural. Le pont qui y mène en est la preuve irréfutable. Dommage que la porte qui y mène soit fermée pour le moment...
Personne ne saurait l'expliquer, mais un jour, sans crier gare, ils se sont isolés au sommet des montagnes d'Urqopacha pour ne plus jamais en descendre.
On attribue aux Yok Huy un grand nombre de prouesses architecturales, comme le temple autour duquel cette ville s'est construite ou le pont gigantesque reliant les deux parties du continent. Pourquoi se sont-ils retirés du devant de la scène ?
Ah, on arrive à ma colonne préférée ! C'est le chapitre du sceau. Il raconte le combat épique contre Valigarmanda, un Tural vidraal légendaire !
Ah, vous l'ignorez sûrement, mais les “Tural vidraal”, c'est des créatures qui ont acquis des capacités hors du commun grâce à leur incroyable longévité.
Ça me rappelle les quatre animaux sacrés d'Orient dont m'a parlé Tataru... Peut-être trouverons-nous des similitudes dans leur anatomie ou leur comportement.
L'autre nom de Valigarmanda, c'est la “calamité incarnée”. Tout au long de notre histoire, cette abomination a semé la mort et la destruction à chacun de ses réveils. Tout ce qu'on pouvait faire, c'était attendre en tremblant qu'elle se lasse et retourne hiberner.
Mais son règne de terreur a pris fin il y a huit décennies ! Gulool Ja Ja et ses compagnons ont défié cette abomination. Au terme d'un combat titanesque, ils sont parvenus à sceller Valigarmanda au plus profond des montagnes d'Urqopacha !
Pour nous, ce Tural vidraal est le symbole même de la puissance. C'est pour ça qu'il est présent sur l'emblème de notre royaume et que le palais arbore un grand nombre de ses représentations.
Tiens ? Cette colonne est vierge, apparemment.
C'est fait exprès ! Le paternel voudrait y graver “la nouvelle direction que prendra notre royaume”. Je vous avoue que j'ai aucune idée de ce qu'il veut dire par là...

That's right. It follows the exploits of my father, Gulool Ja Ja, and his journey to unite our lands. We call it the Tuliyollal Saga!
The deeds he performed and the bonds he forged, all immortalized in stone.
There's no better way to learn how Tuliyollal came to be. Study them as long as you like!

This pillar tells the Lay of the Brotherhood. It depicts the scene where Papa granted an audience to the foreign explorer, Ket...something. I can never remember the name.
You mean “Ketenramm”?
Ah, that's the one. Ketenramm's arrival in Tural is what prompted Papa to embark on his own journey.
It's said the two grew to be close friends─brothers in spirit, if not in blood. But no one knows what became of the explorer in later years.
Ketenramm's disappearance is a mystery in Eorzea as well. The records say he traveled between our lands and yours for a while, but then it's assumed he was lost at sea.
This one recounts the Lay of Repast. As you can probably tell, the figure depicted here is of the Xbr'aal, like me.
For decades, the Xbr'aal and the Mamool Ja were at war for control of the forest of Yak T'el.
The actions Papa took to end that conflict have since been hailed as the first steps in the founding of Tuliyollal.
There is a clan of Hrothgar in Bozja known as Helions. In their society, the women rule as queens, and the men serve as devoted subjects.
Yet here in Tural, Xbr'aal men and women appear to be of equal status. How dramatically culture can vary with location.
Here we have the Lay of Reeds. This is the story of when Papa visited the Hanuhanu in their village in Kozama'uka.
Ah, the people Alphinaud almost mistook for Vanu Vanu, if not for the colorful plumage. He spent a fair bit of time among the Vanu in the Sea of Clouds, so it's no surprise he took an interest in your countrymen.
I don't know how it is with your Vanu, but our Hanu are a bright and cheerful sort. They hold this one festival every year─very famous, and a lot of fun.
Uh, let's see... This one is the Lay of Pots, which depicts the Moblins of Kozama'uka.
They might wear odd masks and sound weirdly muffled when they talk, but the gold- and silverwork they sell is the best you'll find anywhere. Moblin goods are the standard when it comes to gift giving.
Clearly the Vanu aren't the only people with distant Turali counterparts...
The Lay of Gold. This pillar shows one of the Pelupelu, whose homeland is in Urqopacha.
Having created our currency, the Pelu are rightfully known as the merchant clan. They oversee Tuliyollal's markets, and their traveling peddlers are a common sight no matter where you go in Tural.
Don't let their size fool you! They might be mistaken as children, but beneath those beaked masks, they are clever and calculating traders.
Ah, the Lay of Proof... That big fellow is of the Yok Huy, the largest of Tural's peoples.
These giants once used their great size and strength to establish a dominion encompassing all of Yok Tural.
Having brought the southern reaches to heel, they then turned northwards, setting their sights on Xak Tural. You'll recall that massive bridge they built beyond the skygate...
Some time after launching their northern campaign, however, they just...gave up. They abandoned the lands they'd conquered and withdrew into the mountains of Urqopacha. I've never even seen any of their kind so much as set foot in the city.
This was a people with the power and resourcefulness to raise a temple on a mountaintop and build a bridge across the sea with stone. What would move them to renounce their ambitions and their place in Turali history...?
Oh, this one is my favorite: the Lay of Ice. It depicts the battle with the legendary tural vidraal, Valigarmanda!
I should explain. A tural vidraal is a creature that has lived far beyond its usual lifespan and awakened to preternatural power.
Tataru described the Far Eastern auspices in a similar fashion. Could this be the same phenomenon?
Valigarmanda itself was dubbed the Skyruin, a name earned for the destruction and terror it visited upon Tural every time it stirred from its slumber.
But eighty years or so ago, its ruinous reign was brought to an end! After a great struggle, Papa and his comrades managed to overcome the raging vidraal, and sealed it away in the Urqopacha mountains.
Despite its reputation, however, Valigarmanda is also a symbol of power. That's why you'll see its likeness on Tuliyollal's national emblem, and adorning the banners at the palace.
Oh, this one is unmarked.
Papa says he left a blank pillar for the next chapter of Tuliyollal's history. Whatever that might be.

In diese Steinsäulen wurden Bilder eingemeißelt ... Nein, nicht nur Bilder ... auch noch eine Art Schrift?
Ihre Anordnung wirkt, als würden sie eine Geschichte erzählen, und die meisten von ihnen zeigen einen doppelköpfigen Mamool Ja. Wuk Lamat, ist das etwa ...?
Ganz genau, diese Säulen zeigen die wichtigsten Ereignisse auf der Reise meines Alterchens, die zur Gründung Tuliyollals geführt haben. Man nennt diese Geschichte die Tuliyollal-Sage!
Sie zeigen die Bünde, die er mit den verschiedenen Völkern Yok Turals geschlossen hat, und auch einige der Heldentaten, die er vollbracht hat.
Wer über unser Land lernen möchte, kommt um die Tuliyollal-Sage nicht herum. Also nehmt euch etwas Zeit und seht sie euch gründlich an!

Diese Säule zeigt das Kapitel der Freundschaft. Sie zeigt die erste Begegnung zwischen meinem Alterchen und einem Entdecker von jenseits der See ... Ähm, Retenkamm?
Meinst du vielleicht Ketenramm?
Ja genau, das war's! Dieser Ketenramm war wohl gerade auf Tural angekommen, als mein Alterchen dabei war, seine Reise zu beginnen.
Offenbar verstanden sich die beiden auf Anhieb ziemlich gut und wurden enge Freunde, aber ... Was danach mit Ketenramm passiert ist, weiß ich auch nicht.
In Eorzea wird auch über sein Verschwinden gerätselt. Es heißt, er habe die Reise zwischen den Kontinenten noch mehrmals auf sich genommen, aber kam von seiner letzten nie zurück.
Diese Säule zeigt das Kapitel der Zunge. Wie ihr seht, handelt es sich hierbei um mein Volk, die Xbr'aal.
Früher waren die Xbr'aal und die Mamool Ja in einen endlos langen Krieg verstrickt, um den Herrscher des Waldes von Yak T'el zu bestimmen.
Es heißt, dass mein Alterchen diesem Krieg ein Ende bereitet hat und so den Grundstein für die Gründung Tuliyollals legte.
Xbr'aal ... Bei uns ist euer Volk als Hrothgar bekannt. Wenn ich mich recht entsinne, stehen bei den Helions in Bozja eine große Anzahl männlicher Hrothgar im Dienste einer einzigen Königin.
Aber hier auf Tural scheint es ja keinen Rangunterschied zwischen männlichen und weiblichen Xbr'aal zu geben. Wie sagt man so schön: Andere Länder, andere Sitten.
Diese Säule zeigt das Kapitel des Schilfes. Sie erzählt vom Besuch meines Alterchens in der Hanuhanu-Siedlung in Kozama'uka.
Die Hanuhanu sind das bunt gefiederte Volk, das den Vanu Vanu ähnlich sieht, nicht wahr? So nah, wie Alphinaud den Vanu Vanu steht, wundert es mich nicht, dass er so interessiert an ihnen ist.
Eure Vanu Vanu kenne ich nicht, aber unsere Hanuhanu sind immer gut gelaunt und fröhlich. Besonders ihre Feste sind im ganzen Land berühmt!
Ähm, diese Säule zeigt das Kapitel des Topfes. Dabei geht es um die Moblins in Kozama'uka.
Sie tragen immer diese komischen Masken und reden etwas ungewöhnlich, aber was sie alles für Schmuckstücke aus Gold und Silber anfertigen können, ist beeindruckend. Wer ein Geschenk sucht, wird bei ihnen garantiert fündig.
Scheint, als hätten nicht nur die Vanu Vanu, sondern auch die Goblins ein verwandtes Volk auf Tural ...
Ah, das Kapitel des Goldes. Diese Säule zeigt die Pelupelu aus Urqopacha.
Abgesehen davon, dass sie unsere Währung eingeführt haben, sind sie auf dem ganzen Kontinent als Händlervolk bekannt. Sie verwalten auch jegliche Märkte in Tuliyollal.
Auf den ersten Blick mögen sie wie maskierte Kinder wirken, aber glaubt mir, sie sind sehr berechnend und wortgewandt. Im Verhandeln und Feilschen kann ihnen keiner das Wasser reichen.
Das ist das Kapitel des Grabes ... Es handelt vom Volk der Yok Huy, bei weitem das körperlich größte auf Tural.
Dank ihrer enormen Statur und entsprechenden Stärke beherrschten sie wohl einst ganz Yok Tural.
Nachdem sie den Süden kontrollierten, wollten sie weiter nach Xak Tural vorstoßen. Deshalb errichteten sie die Brücke hinter dem Himmelstor von Xak Tural - Zorgor die Weite.
Was genau danach geschah, ist bis heute unklar. Irgendwann sollen sie ihre Herrschaft aufgegeben und in die Berge zurückgekehrt sein. In Tuliyollal habe ich noch nie einen von ihnen gesehen.
Ein Volk, das in der Lage war, einen Tempel und eine Brücke von einem solchen Ausmaß zu errichten ... Wie kam es wohl dazu, dass ein Großteil ihrer Geschichte bis zum heutigen Tag im Dunkeln liegt ...?
Ah, diese Säule mag ich am meisten! Sie zeigt das Kapitel des Siegels und erzählt damit die Geschichte vom Kampf gegen den legendären Tural Vidraal Valigarmanda!
Tural Vidraal nennen wir Lebewesen, die sich durch ihre Langlebigkeit und schier unglaubliche Stärke enorm von normalen Bestien unterscheiden.
Das erinnert etwas an die Tierheiligen des Ostens, von denen mir Tataru erzählt hat. Wenn es sich nicht sogar um die gleiche Art Wesen handelt.
Valigarmanda war einst als die „lebende Katastrophe“ und „geflügelte Geißel“ bekannt, und das nicht ohne Grund. Jedes Mal, wenn er aus seinem Schlaf erwachte, löschte er beinahe den gesamten Kontinent aus. Die Bewohner Turals lebten in ständiger Furcht ...
Aber das änderte sich vor achtzig Jahren! Da tauchte mein Alterchen mit seinen Kameraden auf und schaffte es, die Bestie nach einem langen Kampf auf Leben und Tod in den Bergen von Urqopacha zu versiegeln!

In diese Säule wurde scheinbar nichts eingemeißelt.
Mein Alterchen meinte, er wollte eine Säule leer lassen, bis dieses Land wieder eine Neuerung erfährt. Was genau er damit meint, weiß ich aber nicht.

Wisst ihr, was Tacos sind? Dafür nimmt man einen Teigfladen aus Maismehl, füllt ihn mit allerlei Fleisch und Gemüse und faltet ihn dann zusammen! Sie sind eine Spezialität von Tuliyollal!
Man kann sie hier an vielen Orten kaufen, aber mir schmecken die Tacos von Xbalyav Ty'e einfach am besten!

Wegen diesem verdammten Bakool Ja Ja konnte ich nicht mal meinen Taco essen ...! Den zieh ich noch eigenhändig zu Br'uk Evu, damit er sich ordentlich entschuldigt!
Ich bin zwar neugierig, wie diese Tacos wohl schmecken, aber für den Moment sollten wir uns mit den anderen am Palast treffen.
Du hast ja Recht. Der Palast ist der höchste Punkt in Tuliyollal. Wir können entweder über das Glanzfeder-Viertel oder von Osten über die Krallfußstraße wieder nach oben.
Wie wäre es, wenn wir direkt testen, ob ihr euch langsam auch allein in Tuliyollal zurechtfindet? Wir treffen uns vor Vollok Shoonsa!

Die Stadt hat zwar eine Menge enger und verschlungener Wege, aber wenn man einfach immer weiter nach oben geht, kommt man früher oder später hier an.
Auf unserem Weg hierher sahen wir einen doppelköpfigen Mamool Ja. Laut Erenville ist er ebenfalls ein Teilnehmer am Ritus der Thronfolge.
Das Essen in Tuliyollal ist wirklich fantastisch. Vorhin hat mir ein Mamool Ja im Vorbeigehen eine Frucht namens Cherimoya zugeworfen. So etwas Leckeres hatte ich schon lange nicht mehr!
Oh, da bist du ja. Damit sind wir jetzt also vollzählig!
Mir knurrt zwar immer noch der Magen, aber das werde ich wohl vorerst aushalten müssen!

まるで物語のように異なる場面が連なっていて、 その大半にふたつ頭のあるマムージャ族が描かれているわ。 ということは、もしかして……
ああ、アタシのオヤジ、連王グルージャジャが、 この国を興すまでに辿った旅路が描かれてるんだ。 その名も「トライヨラ叙事詩」！
オヤジと絆を結んだヨカ・トラルの部族たちや、 いろいろな偉業が刻まれてるのさ。
この国を知る上で、こいつの存在は欠かせないからな。 時間をかけてじっくり見ていいぜ！
手前にある4つの石塔に描かれてるのが、 かつてオヤジが辿った旅程の前半を表した絵文字だ。 ひととおり見てみてくれよ。

こいつは「友 (とも)の章」の石塔だ。 描かれてるのは、外つ国から来たナントカって探検家が、 オヤジに謁見してるところらしい。
もしかして、ケテンラムのことかしら？
ああ、たしかそうだ。 そのケテンラムってのがトラル大陸を訪れたことが、 オヤジが旅に出るきっかけだったらしい。
オヤジは外つ国からの来訪者をえらく気に入って、 友と呼べる間柄になったらしいが…… その後、そいつがどうなったのかは知らん！
エオルゼアでも、彼の消息については伝わってないわね。 しばらくの間は、トラル大陸との間を行き来したみたいだけれど、 何度目かの航海で行方不明になったそうよ。
これは「食 (しょく)の章」の石塔だな。 見りゃわかると思うが、 描かれてるのは、アタシと同族のシュバラール族だ。
シュバラール族とマムージャ族は、長年戦争を繰り返してきた。 本拠地にしてた森の支配権を賭けてな。
その戦いをオヤジが止めたことが、 トライヨラ建国のきっかけになったと言われてるらしい。
シュバラール族……私たちがロスガル族と呼ぶ種族。 ボズヤ地方のヘリオンは、指導者であるひとりの女王を、 多くの男性が支える社会構造をしているらしいけれど……。
トラル大陸では、 男性と女性の間に身分の違いはないように見える。 所変われば品変わる、ということかしら。
こいつは「葦 (あし)の章」の石塔だな。 コザマル・カに集落を持つハヌハヌ族と、 オヤジの出会いを描いてる。
カラフルな羽根を持つ、バヌバヌ族とよく似た人たちのことね。 雲海のバヌバヌ族をよく知るアルフィノ君は、 気になって仕方がなかったみたい。
そのバヌバヌってのは知らねぇけど、 ハヌハヌ族の連中は、陽気で面白い奴らでよ。 集落で変わった祭りを開くことでも有名だぜ。
えーと、これは「壺 (つぼ)の章」の石塔だな。 コザマル・カのモブリン族のことが描かれてる。
おかしなマスクを被って、「モブモブ」言ってる奴らだけど、 こいつらが売る金細工や銀細工は、そりゃあ見事でさ。 贈り物の定番って言われてるくらいだ。
バヌバヌ族だけじゃなくて、 ゴブリン族に似た種族までいるなんてね……。
「金 (きん)の章」に描かれているのは、 オルコ・パチャを根拠地にするペルペル族だ。
通貨を生みだしただけあって、 商売の民として知られていて、各地を行商で回ってる。 トライヨラの市場だって連中が仕切ってるんだぜ。
見た目は、仮面を被った子どもみたいに見えるけど、 計算高くて口もうまい、まさに商売上手さ。
これは「墓 (はか)の章」…… トラル大陸いち身体の大きな連中、ヨカフイ族が描かれてる。
その昔ヨカフイ族は、生まれ持ったでかい図体を武器に、 ヨカ・トラルの支配者として君臨してたらしい。
南を制した奴らは、次にサカ・トラルへと進出した。 サカ・トラル関門の先に、大橋を架けることでな。
その後何があったのか、いっときを境に支配者の座を棄て、 オルコ・パチャの山奥でひっそり暮らすようになったんだ。 あいつらがトライヨラに降りてきたとこなんて、見たことねぇ。
こんな山の上に神殿や大橋を造る力を持ったヨカフイ族が、 どうして歴史の表舞台から姿を消したのかしら……。
おっと、こいつはアタシが一番好きな石塔だ。 名付けて「封 (ふう)の章」…… 伝説のトラルヴィドラール、ヴァリガルマンダとの戦いだ！！
トラルヴィドラールってのは、長く生きることで、 獣の枠を飛びこえて、尋常じゃねぇ力に目覚めた存在のことさ。
前にタタルさんから聞いた、東方の瑞獣を彷彿とさせるわね。 同一か、それとよく似た存在ということかしら。
かつてヴァリガルマンダは、「生ける天災」と呼ばれたらしい。 歴史の中で幾度も目覚めては破壊の限りを尽くして、 人々を恐怖に陥れたとか……。
だけど、80年前に事態が変わった！ オヤジと仲間たちが死闘の末にぶっ倒して、 オルコ・パチャの山奥に封印したのさ！！
ヴァリガルマンダは、トラル大陸では力の象徴でもある。 だから、トライヨラ連王国の国章にも描かれているし、 連王宮の装飾にも用いられているわけだ！
この石塔には何も描かれていないみたいね。
オヤジいわく、この国が新たな路を進むときのために、 残してあるんだとさ。 何のこっちゃわからねぇがな。
どうだ、この国のこと、少しはわかったか？ もっと見たけりゃ言ってくれ。 いくらでも待つからよ。

タコスの味は気になるけれど、 今は連王宮でアルフィノ君たちと合流しましょう。
ああ、連王宮は、トライヨラでもっとも高い場所にある。 さっき通ってきた「翼鏡の街」の方から登っていってもいいし、 「鳥趾大路」の東側から回りこんでもいい。
道に慣れたかどうかを試すためにも、 「ヴォロク連王宮」で集合にしようぜ！

狭くて入り組んだ道が多いけれど、 迷ったら高い方を目指して進めば、ここまで来られるわね。
ここに来る途中、双頭のマムージャ族を見かけたんだ。 エレンヴィルに聞いたところによると、 彼も継承の儀に参加する継承候補者らしい。
トライヨラは食べ物が美味しいわね。 さっき、行きずりのマムージャ族から、 チェリモヤって果実をもらったんだけど絶品だったわ。
